Terengganu Sprint Test

Are you familiar with this kind of scene? Nope, we were not racing illegally. Apparently, I have managed to join my brother and his friends to participate in the Terengganu Sprint Test a few days ago as one of the team members. The sprint test had been organised in conjunction with the Chinese New Year holiday and was held for three days from 7 February until 9 February at about 5 am. Out of the 8 categories that were contested, we have participated in the 7th one which was 4 stroke pro drag category using a modified Yamaha LC 135. In this category, rider or mostly known as 'jockey' would need to ride his bike as fast as possible in a straight line of 300 metres.

The weather was windy but the environment was rather hot. The event started with the free running for the riders from the first category to familiarize their bike on the racing track. Later, they ran the time test on the same track twice before the fastest 8 jockeys were called to race in the final. Then, the top 4 would compete for the final prizes. The event would then repeat the free running for the next categories and so on.

Photos you've seen above were the time where my team was doing the preparation for the race. Our team was known as Rafleesang Motor which was the cooperation of Raflee Motor from Kuantan and our friend Mat Sang from Terengganu. Our first jockey called "Kecek" had a minor accident during the first time test due to his nervousness.

The accident has caused him minor injury, thus, another jockey had to replace him for the second time test. After the accident, Cerak, as our mastermind of all the modification quickly fasten the loose carburetor to prepare for the second round. Luckily, we managed to finish in 8.405 seconds which helped us to participate in the top 8 race even though our first test was invalidated.

We were ecstatic to race in the top 8, unfortunately, the carburetor once again fell off when the third gear was entered. Although we did not get to compete in the final race, we were very happy with the performance of our bike and jockey. We definitely would compete again next time.

This man in the above photo was our mastermind of the night. Asyraf or 'Cerak' as we call him, was responsible for all the modification on our bike for the night. In fact, he is quite well known among Kuantan peeps who love speeding. So, if anyone interested in modifying their bikes, or anything else in regards to motorcycles, you can head to Raflee Motor after making appointment with them. Here's their number:-

Now for the ending, let me belanja you with a photo of me and our precious.

Bubbyeeeeeeee.
